Deep I-nside I

Hello folks!

First of all, we’d like to thank two great musicians for linking to the HoloBlog: JC Combs - from Amaranth Arthouse Music - and Karl Verkade - from Guitar for Worship. Both blogs are also on our blogroll and highly recommended!

Now onto our own business. We’d like you to know that, as stated before, composing and writing for the two projects have been coming out quite well. From trying new things - at least for us -, such as voice rhythm turned into music rhythm, to meeting and studying similar approaches or subjects (like Price’s Red Death), we’re all over both artworks. It must be added that doing so for such different projects is very productive, at least for us!

Here’s a section for I, called Deep I-nside. What happens when there’s nothing but emptiness? When everyone’s out? When there’s no relation between things? Or even: when there’s nothing at all? What remains when everything but conscience is shattered?

Without further delay…

Welcome from the newcomer

Hey there !
It’s been a long time since the announcement that I’ve joined forces with Renato and Breno. I should’ve done this posts back then, but hey…Here I am !!! I just want to tell that it has been a pleasure to work with these two guys, for I’ve never met such engaged and talented people like them. I’m not that good with “speeches”, so I’ll just give some news. We’ve been working a lot with the I project and I can tell you that we’ve written some killer riffs and had some crazy ideas. I can’t wait to start recording. Besides this project, we’ve been working with the adaptation and we’re about to start writting the dialogues and stuff. Just the other day, after Renato’s birthday party, we watched the Vincent Price’s version for this classic piece and it was nice to see such different and yet interesting approach he gave(we laughed a lot with those funny faces that used to rule the 60’s movies, though).
Well…that’s it, hopefully this year will be a lot interesting for Holokinesis. We have a lot of work to do and this is simply GREAT !!!!!
C-ya !!!!

Twitter and Celebrations!

Hey guys!

This is just a quick post to let you know that we are now online at Twitter! You can check our updates here or at the sidebar here on Holoblog! Feel free to follow us, if you’re on Twitter too!

On a second note (but not least important, at all)…

The Holokinesis crew would like to wish you a merry Christmas!

That your friends, relatives and unknown contacts may have a great night sharing stories, laughes and a good meal! That’s art!

It’s our true wish!

Ren B

Number: “Me”

Posting today to bring in some news.
First of all, as you can already see, Ren is taking care of making our blog even fancier! Since the Holo website is getting done, we changed the blog skin to fit the design of the whole thing. Thing’s are not all done yet but, soon, you will be able to testify the rise of our website.

That saind, I can move on to the Journey stuff.

Well, don’t know if you guys already knew that but me and Ren used to play in a band together. Back there we had this project of concept album that is very complex and, forgive my - our - lack of humbleness now, extremely good. Last year, unfortunately, Ren left the band - I didn’t - and the other members of the band chosen to discontinue the project. They thought it was very hard to compose music and write lyrics based on that concept and, eventually, they gave up of it.
I didn’t agree with them, but what could I do?

Yesterday, while me and Danilo Tavares were at my place hanging out, the whole topic about that concept album came in and I showed him a couple of songs and did some more explanations about it.

For my surprise, he liked it even harder than I thought he would and asked me why it wasn’t being developed anymore. I told him the whole story and - sorry for being repetitive - he surprised me once again! He offered himself to help us - me and Ren - to finish the whole thing! Of course I accepted the offer and so did Ren. So, the big news is: our masterpiece is back. Not as a band project, but as a great Holokinesis production! But please don’t worry, it won’t affect the Red Death project.

The name of the album is I. It can be read as ‘number one’ or as the personal pronoun ‘I’.
I won’t give you guys much details about it now, but I can tell you that it’s a thriller and has to do with a guy struggling inside his own head about an apparent murder. It even has a mirror labyrinth named Pandemonium.
I assure you’re gonna love it!

Cya, guys!
Breno Ronchini

Not too green

Did you miss us? Don’t worry if you don’t. I know I did. So what’s up with Holokinesis? Things couldn’t be better!

For a start,  the new site will be coming up soon. I can’t really give you a date, since dates are always postponned. Things are walking pretty fast now for our new design premiere.

On the other hand though, Breno and I have been caught in academic wars. No, we’ve not cursing each other or teachers and directors (well, not all of them, at least). Although we’re now following distinct academic paths, we’re both caught in the same paperwork web: documents, exams, histories, diplomas, forms, forms, forms…and some more exams (yes, we’re killing a lot of trees. Not our fault though!). Good news is that this is (almost) over now and we’re (almost) back to work!

Won’t I say anything about Red Death? Of course I will.
We got our costume designer!
That said, it’s time to move on.
I’ll explain better next time. ;)

Cheers!

Names for the Red Death

As promised…

Ideas about the Red Death Project are being thrown at a regular and high speed. Some inside, some outside the bin. Prospero has now a full character on his own and Red Death herself is incredibly charming. As much as characters go, we couldn’t expect anything different than their slow coming out and revealing. Get this project done is pretty much like it is getting shown to you here. It doesn’t matter how much we put our efforts in revealing it, it has its own pace of revelation.

For the crew, we’re already close to present a designer and a cenographer. Those two are very important at this stage of the project since most of our wildest ideas depend on their approval and comments. Their response to our expectations couldn’t have been better. I’m glad to say that it was the same way with us, since we’ve had way more agreements than disagreements. Also, we’ll be confirming our own Prospero in the next few days, hopefully.

As long as music is concerned, 20th century is a great influence until now. There are some early century-ish excerpts, but there are some electroacoustic and (curiously) some minimalism there too.

Cheers!

Get in Touch

So, as you’ve noticed, why do we have a blog but not as our main site? Well, as Holokinesis itself, our site grows organically. In addition to our blog, more sections will come. Of course, the main ones with About, Crew, Contact and all those fancy stuff, but we’ll also aim at keeping an online community about total art. What we want is to interact with people who study and work with the same things as we do. Or at least, similar to what we do.Gesamtkunst is not at all something that sprouts on every street corner, we all know that. But it’s still so hard to find established study programs on it or schools with courses about it.  Not that it doesn’t have its benefits, but it does make it harder to study and work with.So what are we thinking about?
I’ll share with you in the next post. :)

Cheers!

<!–:en–>The Project of Red Death<!–:–><!–:pt–>O Projeto da Morte Rubra<!–:–>

Algumas horas atrás, Renato me ligou, bastante empolgado, para me contar algumas idéias que ele teve hoje.
